In Fall 2023, we interviewed 82 students about their experiences and reactions to Generative AI. This was an incredibly timely project, as we are experiencing the rapid growth of generative AI tools in real time. In April 2024, we presented our findings to a group of faculty and again to the Office of Student Affairs.
We are interested in how students who transfer to Wesleyan experience their transition. What is difficult for them? How could Wesleyan help make their academic and social transition better? We have presented the results of this project to staff in the Office of Academic Advancement.
We are trying to get a sense of how students think about sustainability in relation to their lives at Wesleyan. We are conducting a series of pop-up focus groups to better understand this issue and will be reporting our results to the Sustainability Office at Wesleyan.
We want to understand how the Wesleyan community views what it means to have an open curriculum and how they have explained this to others over time.
The Assessment Lab is studying how students manage access to the course materials (textbooks, etc.) that faculty expect them to buy for a course.
